In the current technological environment, the book, both in the codex form and in screen-based formats, remains a major vehicle of editorial content. This studio undertook a study of systems and structures fundamental to the creation and design of editorial material in the context of the book. Students were introduced to the analysis, creation, environment and current practices in the practice of book design.

the book was designed using prompts from Kazuo Ishiguro's short story Village in the Dark. The images and graphics chosen play up the mysterious obscurity of the story. A haunting tale of convictions past, a place where ideas once shone.
